What a Palm Beach County Kitchen Has to Handle

Most of what decides a kitchen layout here is under the floor or written into the building, not on the drawing.

Almost every home in this county sits on a concrete slab. There is no basement and no crawlspace, so moving a sink, a range, or an island is not a matter of running new lines beneath the floor. It means cutting the slab, rerouting under it, and pouring back. That single fact often decides whether an island can go where you want it, and it is the first thing worth checking before a layout is settled.

Salt air and year-round humidity are hard on the parts of a kitchen people touch. Hinges and pulls corrode faster within a few miles of the water. Interior humidity swings move solid wood more than they would inland, so panel construction and finish choice matter more here than the door profile does.

A large share of Palm Beach County kitchens sit in condos or association communities. That usually means an approval packet before anything is demolished, a service elevator that has to be reserved, and working hours set by the building rather than by the crew. Those constraints shape a schedule as much as scope does, which is why we ask about them at the first walkthrough. We wrote up the details boards actually approve if you want to see what gets reviewed.

Impact-rated windows and doors limit what can move. Openings are structural, and the header and surrounding wall are not something to reroute casually around a new sightline. Where a window cannot move, the layout works around it, and it is better to know that at design than at demolition.

Materials

Cabinetry, Countertops, and Finishes

Most of what separates one kitchen remodel from another is decided before demolition starts.

Cabinet box construction

The box carries the weight of the kitchen, so what it is built from matters more than the door style on it. Plywood boxes hold hardware better over time and move less through humidity swings than particle board. Interior fittings, drawer count, and door profile get chosen after the layout is settled, not before.

Countertops and seam placement

Quartz, quartzite, and marble each behave differently. Quartz is the most forgiving day to day. Natural stone gives you veining no engineered slab reproduces, and asks for sealing and some care in return. Where the seams fall matters as much as the material, so slab layout is decided before fabrication rather than at install.

Islands and waterfall edges

A waterfall edge only reads as intentional when the veining is carried around the corner, and that is a slab selection made early. Islands also carry plumbing and electrical that the slab dictates, so size and position get confirmed against what is actually under the floor before the cabinetry is ordered.

Backsplash and large-format tile

Large-format porcelain removes grout lines but is unforgiving of a substrate that is not flat. The wall has to be trued before the first piece goes up, and the layout is dry-set so cuts land where they are least visible. A slab backsplash carries the countertop material up the wall and needs the same seam planning.

Hardware and fixtures

Unlacquered brass patinas, and near the coast it does it faster. That is either the point or a problem depending on the homeowner, so it is worth deciding deliberately rather than discovering in year two. Finish families are chosen across the whole room at once, so the faucet, the pulls, and the lighting agree with each other.

Lighting in layers

A kitchen needs more than a ceiling fixture. Task light under the uppers, something deliberate over the island, and general light that does not flatten the room. Because it is all set during rough-in and inspected there, lighting is one of the few things that is genuinely expensive to reconsider later.

How it works

From First Call to Final Walkthrough

1

We visit your home, measure the space, and talk through what is not working about the kitchen you have.

2

You get a written scope and a fixed estimate. No allowances that quietly grow once the job starts.

3

We finalize selections together: cabinetry, countertops, tile, fixtures, and lighting.

4

We handle the permitting process and prepare the approval packet your building, HOA, or city requires before work starts.

5

Demolition begins on a scheduled date, with protection laid through the path our crew will use.

6

Rough-in, inspection, and cabinetry set, in that order and inspected at each stage.

7

Finish work: countertops, backsplash, fixtures, trim, and paint.

8

Final walkthrough together. We do not call it done until you do.

Good Questions

Kitchen Remodeling Questions

How long does a kitchen remodel take?

It depends on the scope, layout changes, and materials involved, and cabinetry lead times can affect the schedule. We'll give you a clear, realistic timeline at your free estimate and keep you updated as the project moves along.

How much does a kitchen remodel cost?

Every kitchen is different. Cost depends on size, cabinetry, countertops, appliances, layout changes, and scope of work. The best next step is a no-obligation consultation and estimate.

Can you help me choose the design?

Absolutely. We take time to understand each homeowner's style, how you use your kitchen, and your goals before recommending cabinetry, countertops, and finishes that work together.

Do you build custom cabinetry and islands?

Yes. Custom cabinetry, islands, and built-in storage are a core part of what we do, sized and finished to fit your space and the way you cook and entertain.

Do you handle plumbing, electrical, and appliances?

Yes. We manage plumbing, electrical, cabinetry, countertops, flooring, and finishes in-house, and coordinate appliance installation, so you have one accountable team.

Are you insured?

Yes. Our team is composed of insured, experienced professionals operating in Palm Beach County and South Florida.

What areas do you serve?

We serve the Palm Beaches and surrounding areas throughout South Florida, including Boca Raton, Delray Beach, West Palm Beach, and nearby communities.

Do you work with our architect or interior designer?

Yes, and it is common here. When a designer or architect is already involved we build to their drawings and selections and keep them in the loop through rough-in and finish, so nothing gets decided twice. If you do not have one, we handle selections with you directly.
